Rudy Ruettiger has a big dream of playing at least one game for the big college of Notre Dame. Shawn Grim was also a football player but he had a different dream in mind. He wanted to be the first one in his family to get a degree from college. Both Rudy and Shawn wanted to go to college and wanted to play football, but only 1 would prove successful. Both Rudy and Shawn had a big struggle at home. Shawn’s stepdad was an alcoholic and everyone in his family would steal and lie to each other. Shawn could not trust much at his house. Shawn made it into college on a football scholarship, he wanted to be the first one in his family to earn a college degree. Unfortunately Shawn quickly realized he did not have enough money for college and about 8 weeks into college he had to drop out because he could not afford the food or going out or even living in the dorms. Rudy wanted to make it into Notre Dame and play in at least one game for the football team. He struggled in school and Rudy could not make it in, but he got into a very religious college and he did everything he could to get his grades up so Notre Dame would accept him. After 4 years of college he got into Notre Dame. Since he tried so hard to get on the football team he got on and the very last game of the season Rudy played for the last 30 seconds completing his dream of playing a on the team just one time. Both young men Rudy and Shawn were dreaming big from where they came from by doing something great in college, however Shawn did not succeed in goal to get a degree in college. Even if you dream big you can always make your dreams come true. If you work hard enough and give it your all then your dreams will come true. All you have to do is
