Rudolfo Anaya was born in Pastura, New Mexico, on October 30, 1937 his family was born and raised on a farm he has three brothers and all of them went to serve in WWII. He grew up without the technology and not a lot of money so he would play childhood games like hide and seek tag and he loved to listen to stories. He graduated college in 1965 and then enrolled himself into business school for two years. Rudolfo didn't like the business school and later joined a liberal arts program in at the University of New Mexico. He earned a bachelor's degree in 1963 and started working on literature when he was married. His wife was patricia Lawless on July 21 1966 he finished his literary degree in 1968 but returned for a master's degree in guidance
