Scott and Mia, I am not sure which one of your can help me, but in reconciling our account I have discovered a few issues and have some questions. The swiped amount on the reports provided for the GL reconciliation do not always match the swiped amount. I understand that a vendor can undercharge a charge and swipe a card multiple times, but I did not think they could process cards for more than the total payment amount. For example, in tying out our invoice for 2/28-3/6/2018 I found that the swiped amount ties to our invoice/what was paid out via our account, but the swiped amount is for a different amount than what was issued. In six of the seven instances where the swiped amount was different than the issued amount, the swiped amount…

Some of the primary strengths of Redbox are it is a low cost provider; it is well located at convenience stores, fast food restaurants, grocery stores, mass retailers, and pharmacies; low inventory and operating cost. A few other strengths include user–friendly kiosks, no membership requirement and a “Return to any kiosks” policy, which differentiated itself from other rental companies. Because Redbox depends on external business relationships for its overall operation, the high cost of partnerships and reliance of distribution licensing agreements are identified weaknesses. Increasing cost of partnerships with movie studios and the reliance of distribution agreements with distribution companies can have a significant impact on Redbox’s inventory.…

I have been a Comcast customer for over eight years, and have had serious customer service issues dealing with billing, service, and contracts over the years. Because I live on my Social Security, I called the Retention/Loyalty phone number on January 2nd to ask if I could sign up for a lower-cost 2-year service contract. I had been paying over $160 per month, and asked if there was a plan that would be less expensive. I talked to an agent, and signed up for a triple play plan of $129.99 per month, less credit deductions; and was told my monthly bill would be approximately $152. When I received my pro-rated bill, it was $175.77.…

Good morning Harry, That was a real intersting statistic. Up until we bought our home, we had not had any cable service for well over 7 years. Cable prices are way too pricey nowadays. The only reason why we even got cable to begin with was because we moved to a new area and U-verse had a great bundle that included cable, internet, HBO GO, and a free year subscription to Amazon Prime for $50 a month. For the most part, we stream everything through Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go, or Amazon Prime.…

3.4 Discussion of Results The evidence is clear; large cable conglomerates like TWC, now called Charter Spectrum since its latest merger, act with monopoly power to increase prices and no one is stepping in to regulate them. With only one cable provider in most areas due to prohibitive capital-intensive entry barriers, the government has allowed the cable industry to function as natural monopolies, with limited government restrictions. With free reign on price increases, TWC camouflages many increases by burying them in equipment charges and add-on service fees. In addition, they bundle their services so that the price of selecting individual services versus the bundled service is cost prohibitive for the consumer, increases revenue for…
