It teaches that one person, no matter who they are, can largely impact the world. It shows of Ruby’s perseverance and determination through difficult times, inspiring many people. Although it was a good movie, I believe that some of the conflicts featured in the movie such as racial tensions, would be difficult and too intense for younger children to understand. I think this movie should be played in fourth or fifth grade and older because it would then be easier to understand the concept of the story. I feel that this movie handles the issue of racial tensions well by describing and showing many problems between different races, in order to further educate the viewers. Despite not describing some of the characters, I learned a lot about Ruby and her story from this movie that I did not know before I watched it. I learned about her struggles, how she was scared and how Ruby dealt with the protestors and other people who were mean to her. I learned about her journey through school and her wide-spread impact on segregation. I learned a lot from this
