A character's lines always affects the movie. In the very beginning, a random car comes out of nowhere, and knocks over chairs sitting in the middle of the desert. A man, later known as Lieutenant Chad, climbs out of the trunk. Facing the camera while holding a glass of water, he states "'In the Steven Spielberg movie E.T., why is the alien brown? No reason. In Love Story, why do the two characters fall madly in love with each other? No reason. In Oliver Stone's JFK, why is the President suddenly assassinated by some stranger? No reason. He rolls around the desert killing animals, and eventually people, with his telekinetic powers. Meanwhile, the bystanders with binoculars just laugh and joke. Robert checks into a hotel and gets upset when the maid cuts off his shower water. In revenge, he blows her head off. Just like that. The only witness to the crime is a teenage boy, who nobody believes. Lt. Chad has been acting like he does not know of what killer tire is being discussed. However, he later pretends to have an epiphany. After having an accidental run in with Robert, he decides it is time to kill the tire. He awkwardly states, "Oh, God, the kid was right. The killer is a tire" (Rubber). This leads police on a wild goose chase to find an escaping tire. When they finally find Robert and kill him, they think the nightmare is over. However, a man from the crowd rolls in in his wheelchair and yells,"Hey, wait! It's not the end! He's been reincarnated as a tricycle"
