Introduction
An organization’s culture can affect many aspects of, and levels of employees across the company. It starts with the implementation of strategies towards the ability to achieve company goals. This is usually decided by the board of directors or the management team of the organization. I am going to discuss the culture of RR Donnelley (RRD) and more specifically the Paul Hastings department which includes the DPS (document processing services) team.
Explanation to the Culture of my department
RR Donnelley’s main focus to my understanding is to provide a high client satisfaction amongst providing services of a global communication and collaboration of content. More unambiguously, that moderates costs, intensifies revenues, and

DPS carries that standard and has further communication principles it maintains. The legal affiliates within the Paul Hastings organization contacts DPS mostly through email, while occasionally through phone. They request revisions to or creations of legal documents that are needed often times on a rush basis. Our goal is to respond to their requests within fifteen minutes of the correspondence, quickly evaluate what the client needs, and resolve the matter as quickly as we can. The department has a high accuracy of being on time with the client requests. Communication within the department is strong, as the team encompasses a level of integrity, and a punctual outcome.
Impact of culture and communication
With a high standard for maintaining the organization’s culture and communication, the impact means a high level of client satisfaction. As long as each department within RRD does its part of upholding the company criterions, the company will continue to grow and be profitable. Sustaining the implementation of management strategies is important to the organization as a whole, as this helps support the congruence of goals within the company (Anthony & Govindarajan, 2007, pp. 53-71). With a company of the size of RRD, there is always room for improvement, however.

Although RRD’s strength is accuracy paired with swift production, there are opportunities for improvement that would benefit both its employees and the client gratification. Having a stronger management team that involves itself with raising the morale and cohesion of its employees will ultimately help improve the organization’s congruence towards achieving goals. In regards to DPS, being a department that is always on the clock (open 24x7x365 days out of the year), getting every shift on a more consistent basis of operations and procedures would go a long way with improving the already high level of communication and culture within the department. Implementing a stronger communication and feedback system from management to its lower level employees would offer an enhanced morale, which would result in higher fabrication levels (Anthony & Govindarajan, 2007, pp. 98-113).
