CHARACTERS: “The Car”

“Axle”- Red Ford Mustang, Royce & Pierce calls “Axle”
Royce Mathews- owns “Axle”, rowdy, fun, and unpredictable. Sandy blond hair, medium height, green eyes. Inventive, curious, and perseverant.
Marc Hoyt- Royce’s stepdad. Good man, makes Carla, his wife, very happy.
Carla Kendrick-Hoyt- Marc’s wife and Pierce’s ex-wife. Royce’s mother.Blue eyes, blond hair, medium height. Kind mother, but not always as observant as she should be, hopeful, caring, and generous.
Pierce Mathews- Royce’s biological dad. Audacious, ambitious, workaholic, very fun, and carefree when not working, which is very seldom. Black hair, green eyes, and tall in height. Gives Royce the Mustang for his late eighteenth birthday present.

He hands Royce an envelope. Royce is disappointed with Pierce, for heaven sakes it’s his 18th birthday, he knows his father can do better than a gift card. He storms off, and drives away in his battered TrailBlazer. Little did he know, his father had quite a special gift to bestow.

Trials- 1. Royce comes back after his dramatic exit. Only to hear that his father has left, and flown back to California and is devastated. Little did he know that his father was going to give Royce his beloved Mustang, and that he had planned a treasure hunt to get the keys. Tonight, inside of the envelope was a gift card for Royce’s favorite restaurant, and that, the restaurant was the first clue in his father’s treasure hunt.

2. Royce knows that he screwed up, big time, and gets ready for his last day of school, and his graduation. That afternoon he has finals. All he can think about is his horrible, hurtful reaction, to his father’s generous, kind gesture. Despite the awful performance he gave his father last night, he passes finals, with flying colors. He then says his last goodbyes to his teachers and friends, picks up his diploma after graduation, and heads

Also he presents the idea that he is going to drive to California, and pay a visit to his father, and his father’s other family. Royce also declares that no one will be going with him, he is going on his own, and anyone that tries to stop him will have hell to pay. He also, with finality states that he will be taking his TrailBlazer, and not the Mustang, because, he himself has decided that the “committee counsel” inside his head has ruled in favor of revoking his privileges of the Mustang until contact with his father has been
