In his head he thinks, “I am malicious because I am miserable.”(Shelby, 104). The monster was angry because he felt wrongly judged. That feeling of not being good enough, not being liked, and never being given a chance, all seem to have influenced why he became a murderer. Deep down the monster was a good person and only acted out due to rage he felt from the constant pain. This further shows that a person’s life experiences influence the person they become.
