I’m sitting and all I can think of is being deployed. Today is my last day with my family.I'm leaving everyone behind and starting a new life. My nerves are starting to kick in now. I know what I am doing takes a lot of guts. As I’m leaving my house I’m scared but I know I’m doing the right thing. As I’m getting on the bus I’m waving to my family. I’m crying like crazy. I’m saying goodbye to the people I love. As the bus is pulling off I stare out the window, I am saying goodbye to the life I once lived. I’m trying to hide the tears of fear I have. As I look around the bus I have noticed that was the only female on the bus. Suddenly the bus comes to a sudden stop. As I look at the window I see a girl running. She doesn’t look that old. I smiled and thought for a moment. At that moment I knew that we would be in this fight together. As we got to know each other I noticed that she was holding something in her hand. I decided to ask her what was in her hand. She smiled it was a locket.In the locket, she showed me a picture of her family. She said that they gave this to her so that she would always remember them. Her family told her that no matter what happened to her they would always love her. She kept her locket as close as she could to her heart. As we got further away from home I started to get more and more scared. I was thinking about all the bad things that could happen to me during the war. I started to get flashbacks of my family and friends. That is when I realized how much I was going to miss my family I started to realize how much this was important to me and I was ready for the war ahead of me. I was here to protect my country and my crew. As we approach the base I just sit there. I know that I’ll be scared but I will always have my family.
