It was a summer afternoon in Colorado when I had recalled a loud buzzing noise. Assuming it was simply the bees coming to pollinate the flowers, I continued on my merry way as to not disturb the bees. What I got instead was a pack of hornets that ended up surrounding me. Now, I was under a lot of stress at the moment. I was surrounded by hornets, it was hot, and I knew getting stung by one would be painful. But rather than panicking and flailing my arms wildly in a hopes that they would leave me be, I instead ended up standing still and controlled my breathing. I knew that if I had panicked I would have ended up with a lot of angry hornets on my trail, and more than a few sting marks. While I was standing still the Hornets ended up landing and walking around on me for a bit before they would take off. I remember the buzzing of my phone from my mom, telling me I must do well, the feeling of stress as assignments seem to stack more and more around me, the pre-buzzing of the teachers saying finals week was coming up. I passed my finals but not by working myself halfway to death every day. No, rather I stayed calm and worked on my finals, and not once did I panic about them. And because of this, I passed all my classes.
