True Colors Rough Draft Body Paragraphs
One of the characteristics of green that describes me extremely well is my intellectual ability. In my math class right now, which is algebra two, I have a classmate that I sit by that is very nice. The only problem is that the teacher has decided to make video lessons instead of actually going over it in class, which then carries over confusion on the problems in class. It is hard for my classmate to understand, but I understand it very well. So I help my classmate by explaining the problem and how to work out all of the problems that he doesn't understand. When he ever has a question, he comes to me, not the teacher. He does this because he trusts me to explain the problem in a way that he can understand. This situation allowed me to express how being intellectual is a part of being a green and a big part of me.
I agree with the characteristic of being a perfectionist

I am probably one of the most competitive kids in union, simply for this reason. One day I was playing a video game in the basement with Colton and Avery. The game we were playing is called Super Smash Bros and is super addicting and fun. The goal of the game is to knock out your opponent. In this 4-player game, if you only play with three people like we were doing, you can add in a CPU to make the teams even. So we were playing this game, and I kept on losing and losing. Eventually Avery and Colton got bored and went upstairs. The thing is that I stayed downstairs. I am literally so competitive that I stayed in the basement playing that game until late into the night, because I wanted to win so bad. My parents had to actually come downstairs and drag me upstairs in order for me to go to bed. Then the next time we played, I crushed Avery and Colton and felt good about myself. I am so much of a competitor, and I believe it to be a trait of not only me, but many other oranges as

Construction of Rough Point started in 1887 and was commissioned by Frederick W. Vanderbilt, the sixth son of William. At the time of its construction, it was the largest house in Newport, RI and occupied a site of approximately 11 acres which overlooked the craggy rocks and cliffs at the end of Aquidneck Island. Built in the English Manorial style, it was furnished to project the mood of an English country house. The grounds and gardens were designed by the firm of F.L. and J.C. Olmsted. Apparently, life in Newport did not agree with Mr. Vanderbilt, and he sold the house in 1906 to the Leeds family, who sold the house to James Duke in 1922.…

"Shitty First Drafts," by Anne Lamott dismisses the myth of the “perfect first draft” by explaining how horrible first drafts really are. It seems that she is writing to a young, student-based audience. Lamott mixes in a lot of humor which makes it fun and interesting to read and since she writes in a very informal tone it helps her connect to the reader more than if she wrote more professionally. Along with this Lamott seems to be trying to see through the audience’s eyes by telling her personal story about writing restaurant reviews for magazines.…

Fixing the Underrepresentation by Vickie Hale: Paragraph Revision Original paragraph Although there are those who disagree with women being underrepresented, some would say men are being assumed to be the most prevalent in the STEM fields, however, there may not be as big a gap as would be claimed. Some would say men are experiencing all the same negative entities that keep women from the STEM fields. With that being said the government should offer more incentives to women to help them pursue STEM careers, women should receive equal pay and at an early age be graded toward STEM fields. These things need to happen because there is a big need to fill STEM jobs.…

I feel the quote, “The rights of genius are being democratized in order that people may be relieved of the labor of acquiring culture, and their need of it.” , found on page 45 of Greening Philosophy, relates to my educational experiences the most out of the text. By breaking down the quote, I personally found it relaying that teachers, or genius, are accessible to students to teach culture without the students having to go out and personally experience or research culture. In the next few sentences, the philosopher claims that experiencing culture is for few people. I believe this section relates to my transition into college.…

Body Paragraphs When I was in 5th grade, my mom took away my Xbox controllers and handheld gaming devices in a bag and then hid them because she was managing how much I played. Every day, or at least when I played, my mom would take them and put them in a bag after I had played enough for the time. I remember that when she did this it bugged me, and I sought for a way to pay on my handheld devices whenever I wanted since they were small and portable. I thought and I thought until a light bulb gleamed in my head. I had figured it out.…

Some may not understand or agree with the statement “To be great is to be misunderstood,” from Emerson, but I believe that this aphorism is a perfect description of every great person who ever lived because every person worth knowing or learning about has been judged by others without deserving it. I have experienced this first hand within the past year of my life. While I know I’m not the greatest athlete in the world, I consider myself to be one of the top athletes in the school. When I decided to join the football team there were many people who questioned me saying, “what do you think you are doing?” or “Don’t you know you are too small to play football?”…
