“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” This quote by Patrick Rothfuss shows exactly what can be expected of fear. It is unpredictable, dark, and startling. In this way, fear is funny; it gives people different emotions in different situations. Fear is worry. It throws people into different situations, waiting for the reaction of worrisome. It sits in the waiting room at the doctor’s office patiently waiting to hear the news of the dying man. It sits on the shoulder of a crying woman, smiling in accomplishment. It makes your stomach hurt after hearing the bad news. Fear is relentless; it will do anything create a situation and throw you into it, without blinking an eye. Fear is nervousness. It is the nerves as you stand backstage waiting to singing your solo at a big concert. It doesn’t wait for you to calm your nerves; it throws you on the stage and waits for you to sing. It is the uncontrollable movement of your leg bouncing in the spotlight. Fear sits in the chairs along to runway, waiting for you to trip on your dress and make a fool out of yourself.
