her patients when they first came into the rehab. Courtney also worked with a team of specialist like dietitians, physicians’ assistants, nurses and therapist, and met with those specialists to discuss the patients discharge planning, and progress (). The rotary rehab team did that also. The things that are different in Courtney story from the agency I observed is the death board that Courtney agency used every day to put the names of the patients that has passed away (), and her outpatient clinic being a clinic for just seniors. The rotary team deals with all kind of patients young and old. They rarely get anyone that is really sick or who pass away while they are in their facility.

If you did not see God at work in either, describe 2 ways God could potentially work in this particular setting.
Two ways I saw God in this practice setting is first with Mrs. Burrell. One patients in particular, asked her to pray for her because she was about to go into surgery and she was afraid. Mrs. Burrell did not hesitate once and went to this patient, took her hands, and prayed with her. After the prayer, the patient thanked her so much. I thought that was wonderful of Mrs. Burrell to do because I see that it calmed the patient down from her fears. The second reason I say God in this practice setting is when the team members see each other in the morning time they always say, “have a bless day”. That let me know that God is in the building, and that is a wonderful team to be around.

Is there anything about the role of the social worker and/or working with the particular clientele in this setting that you think will be particularly challenging for you? If so, explain.
I do not feel like anything in this practice setting would be a challenge for me.

While observing the team, the best outcome for the patient's treatment and prognosis is focused on before being discharged. The presidents elect Mr. Trump released an action plan that outlined his first one hundred days in office. For me as an individual and as a professional the plan that stood out most was the possibility of repealing Obamacare, placing a hiring freeze on federal workers, changes to school choices, the discontinuation of funding for sanctuary cities and capping tax deductions. The proposed changes may cause and upheaval in the workplace, communities and government, therefore social workers must approach these issues as professionals. Social workers must anticipate an influx of people that may require help to restore or enhance their capacity for social functioning.…

By volunteering over sixteen hours at MacGregor Downs Health and Rehabilitation Center I have developed numerous strong bonds with various residents and now view old age in a more positive light. My visitation there covered a variety of tasks such as: one on one visits, decorating, knitting and participating in the veteran’s ceremony. Having the absolute pleasure of interacting with this center’s residents has been both delightful and informative. It is through these interactions that I no longer fear entering old age later in life. Nonetheless, the facility could benefit from small changes to its current operations.…

Throughout this semester we have discussed and practiced various techniques that can be used when working with clients. This semester at Loyola has enhanced my understanding of what it truly means to be a social worker, from the classroom perspective. In my field placement, I do not believe it is directly related to social work, but I was able to use a social worker perspective when interacting with the children in the program. This course was the only course that provided me with hands-on experience of engaging with different types of clients. In my other classes, we did not do case demonstrations instead, we discussed different theories and perspectives about individuals and family systems.…
