Aliens have been a popular topic in American culture for decades, with debates around Area 51, or movies and TV shows like Stranger Things. However, in the 1947 New Mexico summer, some debris was found in a ranch near Roswell. This occurrence was later named “The Roswell Incident”. The Roswell Incident then sparked a debate whether aliens were real, or fiction. The belief that the Roswell Incident was a UFO is an interesting topic that can be supported by witness accounts, the government’s secrecy, and the debris; even the counter argument can be challenged.
One reason why Roswell has a connection to a UFO is due to the detailed witness accounts. At the time, Glenn Dennis was a local mortician. He had received a call for any child-sized coffins from the Roswell Army Airfield. Intrigued, he had driven down to the airfield for questions, but was escorted out. When he met up with a nurse from the field, she had told Glenn that she had saw aliens, and gave a detailed description.. The nurse was never heard from again (“Crash in Roswell”). These drops were meant to study on how to help pilots survive long drops. However, this causes suspicion, because instead of it being done by your average scientists, it was conducted by the military. They were also on close guard of the drops, which brings the question to why it was done by the government and military, instead of some students or casual scientists. This furthers the idea that something else was going on. Although this is strong evidence, it is not the last
