Pre-sort:
Stressed the importance and requirement of our pre-work warm up stretches. Critiqued Rob Servius on his stretch leading, since he was the first volunteer. We will start the manger rotation for leading tomorrow, and provide feedback as necessary to improve our performance.
First 2 hours:
Tonight on midnight was our best 2 hour discount, at 46,300. I gave everyone a goal of 45,000, and it was achieved. This will be our new minimum discount. Rolling into the 0100 half with a 20,500 cumulative pace was also a big step in the right direction. Throughout peak we will continue to focus on volume processing to ensure we service packages on time to the best of our ability.
Unl:
Unload managers did a nice job maintaining overhead pace and communicating with the sort on any issues they ran into. One thing we need to work on the most is getting smalls to the MA more efficiently. Tomorrow I will help the unload managers assign a specific person to handle lose smalls all day. …show more content…
I will continue to work through their end of day set-up with them to help speed up our wrap.
Eyms:
Discussed with Ryan and the switchers about accepting moves in the que appropriately. Today running 20K+ segments and remaining fully plugged during the turns proved an instant improvement to switch times. Will continue to follow up on yard efficiency daily.
End of day:
Finished hot excluding the SCHG that was late due to a breakdown, at 220. Shut our dock by 245 other than the 6 destinations we held open until 310 to service the packages from SCHG. Scaled the sort back to 41 people during this time to finish. OB responded well to the last minute decisions regarding the plan to run/ not run the SCHG. Will follow up on their feedback from the end of the day in pre-sort
