Rosie’s the Riveter Recall Working in War Industries Rosie's the Riveter who was popular made a major contribution to the war effort. It was a more challenging for women to work in industries during World War II. At that time, industries hired women for the work to be done which was previously done by men. There were lots of jobs for women during the mobilization of the American economy to build airplanes, ships, weapons, tanks and various form of military equipment. This article talks about how some of the women's lives changed by getting jobs during the wartime.

She was married to Lewis Early Harvey in 1941. She worked as riveter and radar installer in United Modification Plant. The F.B.I investigated about her and found her worthy person. Then she even started installing relief tubes, plexiglass for the rear gunners and aerial installation. Her work was awarded as the Army-Navy E award and was presented with a pin. During the war, she saw many accidents which still haunt her. Her husband was drafted at that time. She writes a letter to her husband whenever she gets time. Most of her co-workers were "war widows" she used to share stories with them. They gave each other a shoulder to cry and hug whenever needed. This document stated that these women made a lot of contribution to the war effort. Women stepped up without any hesitation and gave up their household jobs to accomplish things that men had done before them. They became journeyman welder, radar installer, worked as lumber and operated heavy construction machine. They proved that they could do jobs as men can do. Many women worked in war-related jobs which changed the phenomenon of America. The women who are only involved in household and taking care of children got an opportunity to learn and earn their own way. As a whole, all their hard work and all dedication shed a new light on
