To Rosie’s Place, I bring experience working in educational settings with children, parents, teachers, and peers. As a woman of color and as a student at a women’s college, I have witnessed first hand the institutions, structures, and systems that work against and marginalize women. As a Peace and Justice major with a concentration in Community Development Through Education and Policy, I have insight on how to critically analyze race, class, and gender inequities and how these inequities function in our everyday lives due to systemic and institutional oppression. I am concerned with identifying the factors that deprive women of access to resources and helping women to become agents of their lives; I hope to impact disenfranchised women personally and also through advocacy and public policy.
