The fresh scent of lavender filled my nose, I stood up abruptly just as a knock on the door sounded. “Come in,” I called out.

The door swung open, “We have another delivery for you Mrs. Paige.”

I had been getting bouquets of flowers everyday for two weeks at this exact time. The first two days, I had just assumed it my husband but when I had confronted him about it, he was clueless. So that ruled him out.

“Just set it on my desk Herbert.” I said, rubbing my temples.

Leaving the bouquet of flowers on my desk, the delivery man exited the room. I sighed and sat back down on my desk. Inside the bouquet was a note, it read:

Vanessa,

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
I’ve never seen anyone
As beautiful as you.
