Rose City High School: A Case Study

At Rose City High School, much of what Ms. Enriquez does involves assessment with students and at times intervention, but mostly assessment. In terms of assessment, she said there isn’t any specific person that determines the need for a student to be assessed but rather anyone could request it. Depending on the student’s needs, she begins with different comprehensive assessments, ones that focus on socialization and communication, and if required, she’ll have the school nurse there for developmental assessment. Since assessments can differ, there will at times be different colleagues that may partake in an assessment such as a Special Education Teacher, or a school nurse, or sometimes a speech therapist, depending on what the student requires.
