Rose And The Academy

The academy in this novel isn't any ordinary academy. The Academy is filled with different kinds of vampires, such as Strigois. Strigois are vampires who become evil by draining a victim’s blood, causing them to have an extraneous amount of strength. These vampires have the patience of no saint and the temper of a ticking bomb. They live underground, where they are hidden from sunlight and hunters – also known as guardians. Guardians are determined and motivated to exterminate all vampires. They train day and night, practicing a variety of scenarios in order to foresee the enemies’ motives. Consequently, the story begins with the protagonist named Rose who is training to become a guardian in order to protect her best friend, and princess, Lissa. Lissa is a Mori – a person who carries a rare gift. She has the ability to heal and use compulsion on anyone she chooses. Rose was capable of feeling Lissa emotions that surge with panic and fear. Rose wanted to race to her best friend immediately, but soon realizes she doesn’t know where Lissa has been taken. Rose begins to concentrate on their bond and suddenly was able to enter Lissa’s mind. Victor admits the reason of his kidnapping: he wanted to use Lissa’s blood to curse the deadly disease he has. Lissa refuses because she is afraid of the amount of power in her healing abilities; she is afraid that it might kill her while healing him. With the new bond, Rose was able to track Lissa’s exact location, leading the guardians at the academy to the princess. Once they found her, Victor ends up in jail and everything slowly goes back to the normal evil vampire hunting life. With all the problems that surrounded the academy, it taught the affect of what unconditional love can do to someone’s motives and
