He was born Nov. 22, 1923 in Del Rio to Mr. and Mrs. Pat Rose, Sr. Rose's grandfather, Abb Martin Rose, moved to Del Rio with his family in 1888. Based on the information from chapter 7, Rosey has displayed several normative traits. Rosey has displayed fine motor skills such as stacking blocks which are congruent with several children of the same age group (2-3 years in age). Client has also displayed traits associated with Piaget’s sensorimotor stage in that she has been engaging in independent imitation and manipulation play such as playing with her baby doll. The supposedly “haunted” place that i am going to investigate is called Rose Hill. It is about a young girl named Rose who was driving up a hill and was murdered beside her car. She was driving up the hill and her car started messing up and it rolled back down the hill, she go out of her car and was checking under the hood then suddenly she was grabbed by a man and was killed right beside her car. It is told that if you dust your trunk with flour and and place a rose on it and drive up the hill if you get out of your car and look there will be hand prints and the rose will be gone. Maria Mitchell was an educator, a feminist, and perhaps most notably, the first female to work as a professional astronomer in the United States. She gained fame in 1847 when she excused herself from a dinner party to survey the sky using her father’s telescope, and discovered a comet. This comet became known as “Miss Mitchell’s Comet” and won her a gold medal which was presented to her by the Danish government (Mitchell 1889, 331-343). Mitchell was born in Nantucket, Massachusetts to Quaker parents. She was born into a community which was rather progressive for its time, in regard to women’s rights.…

These consist of 22 pageants for each local community, and then in March each one of those girls who won compete for the title of Miss Blossomtime. By competing in pageants you learn how to socialize with your peers, how to present yourself in front of a community, and you learn how to grow as a person inside and out.…
Everyone knows the iconic poster of the girl in a denim jumpsuit and a red polka-dot bandana in front of a yellow background saying “We Can Do It!”. Even if the name “Rosie the Riveter” does not ring a bell, her face is one someone cannot go a lifetime without seeing. This piece of propaganda, and many others including songs and stories, are all part of the campaign that is Rosie the Riveter. Originated in the early the 1940’s, this campaign inspired millions of women to get out of the typical home life and start working the men’s jobs. Before the 1940’s, women in the workplace was uncommon and frowned upon; women were to be housewives and specifically designated to the home, until the start of WWII. Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon has forever shaped and changed the role of women in society. During WWII Rosie represented the women that helped in shipyards while the men of the country were out fighting in the war; this still being a time where it’s uncommon for a woman to even be in the workplace. This has given society a new shape for femininity, independent, hard-working women. Women have always been placed in a “public sphere,” meaning that they were not expected to pursue the same interests that a man would.…

The film Purple Rose of Cairo (dir. Woody Allen, 1985) is based around the dynamic relationship between Cecilia (Mia Farrow), Tom Baxter (Jeff Daniels), and Gil Shepherd (Jeff Daniels). Cecilia is torn between 2 men that look almost identical if it was not for their attire, but whom of which differ in personalities. In a historical context, the film takes place in the midst of the Great Depression era which adds to the complexity of Cecilia’s love triangle. Through a combination of deep focus displayed in shot 20 and 31, as well as the use of figure movement in shot 5, Purple Rose of Cairo presents Cecilia as a paradigm of us spectators to be critically self-reflective in our relationship to movies.…
