"Rosa Parks"
Rosa Parks' early life and background had a very important impact on who she was as an individual. She was very involved with helping her mother whenever she could since both her grandmother and mother both weren't in good health conditions. "In fact, Parks took care of everyone(Hill 528)." This evidence shows that from a young age, she was responsible. Parks was an observant child and knew how blacks were being treated wasn’t right. From stories told by her grandparents about slavery and experiences in her daily life, Parks started viewing segregation as intolerable and did whatever she could to avoid segregated places(Hill 528). This shows how this evidence relates to how her experiences shaped her into the person she was. Also,

In a just society there is no need to break any social rules or regulations, but once the government and society becomes corrupted then change needs to occur. As individual people our voices are weak and insignificant, but once we stand together as one then chance has a much higher chance of occurring. Peaceful resistance positively impacts a free society because the exercised freedom of some individuals can infringe on the freedoms of others, making it the duty of the citizens to flag the issue through peaceful resistance. Rosa Parks was a brave woman, knowing the consequences she still waves in her pool known as society by refusing to get up from a seat. Something that might seem trivial to us now was hugely symbolic back then, making her an icon of her time.…

Let freedom reign! In reality the actions taken by Douglass and Parks are in fact justified. The actions committed and the effects are justified for the following reasons; they have basic freedoms such as life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness (there deserved but illegal). Though some defenders of slavery would say that, according to the Bible, Jesus never spoke against slavery but in contrast never enforced the use of slavery either. It was apparently the “way of life” but everyone as said before is granted basic freedoms/rights.…

As can be seen in recent protests against the inauguration of President Donald Trump, American citizens believe that public civil disobedience demonstrations can influence the way that others view an issue/government official. Peaceful resistance may positively impact our free society; however, if it becomes harmful to other people or their property this creates a negative and even dangerous impact on our communities. The people of the United States of America are able to peacefully protest anything that they believe is an infringement of their rights, and no one should be able to force them to stop protesting what they believe in. Some people may ridicule a person’s beliefs and concerns but they can do nothing to stop them from making these concerns a national issue. Harris G. Mirkin was a political science professor who wrote about Thomas Jefferson’s theory of civil disobedience; his work would impact the way that modern citizens think about civil disobedience.…

History may not always be accurate and often portray events and people incorrectly. Rosa Parks is often depicted as a quiet, old lady who did not care much activism, when in reality she worked hard in order to help push for equality. In her article “How History Got the Rosa Parks Story Wrong,” author Jeanne Theoharis expresses that Rosa Parks was a lifelong activist, rebellious, and also a women’s rights activist through the use of various pieces of evidence to contradict the misconception that Parks was a quiet woman who was only involved in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. In the article, Theoharis shows Parks’s lifelong commitment to activism by using descriptive word choices and evidence from a collection of personal, written artifacts.…
