The ropes course shows that people do not necessarily do things the same way everyone else does. Team building activities offer valuable insights into the depths of social interaction, and how group leaders emerge. George Homans had researched and found that group interaction form the social structure of groups such as who becomes the leader and such of the group. The person the contributes the most to the group will emerge as a group leader and starts to form the structure for that group. The ropes course shows that everyone needs to work together to complete the task.

A nuclear family is a couple and their children, who usually interact on a daily basis. I have a rather large family, I have 4 brothers and 1 sister and I am very close to all of them. To me, my family is a important source of identity and purpose, they have played a large role in shaping my values and norms. Love and affection binds family members together and our relationships are enduring. Even when members move away from each other, they are still a part of the family. Another primary group I am part of would be my friend group. When I think about my close friends, I think of laughing, storytelling, and shared experiences I have with them. We spend a lot of time experiencing different adventures together,talking about personal stories, and just enjoying each others company. My friends and I share interests, have similar personalities, and lifestyles. I hope since my relationship with my friends are quite personal, our friendship will remain intact over a long period of time.
