However, our team can help to relieve your dental anxiety using a few special techniques. Before even beginning the procedure, as mentioned in the section above, we willyou are give youn a local anesthetic that is used to numb the area affected by the extraction. This will allow for pain-free removal. The actual injection may pinch a bit, but when it is over, you will not feel any of the discomfort associated with the extraction.
We also offer each of our patients a warm blanket to use during the procedure. This often helps put slightly nervous or uncomfortable patients at ease. We know that it's a small gesture — but sometimes it is the little things that matter. We will also perform the procedure at your pace. If it will help alleviate your anxiety to talk you through each step of the process, then that is what we will do.
For patients who are still nervous after learning about our anaesthetic and comfort options, we offer nitrous oxide sedation, better known as laughing gas. Nitrous oxide is breathed in through a facial mask and absorbed into the bloodstream to create a quick, but short-term, carefree attitude.
