This book is about Roosevelt’s New Deal program during the great depression. It gives the background of Roosevelt and his campaign to win the election. It relies on the theory or realignment to explain why many republicans converted to the Democratic Party, beginning a big movement of momentum with Roosevelt’s policies to help them during the depression. For these policies to work Roosevelt had to get the stubborn Republicans left to cooperate. It then talks about the foreign affairs the New Deal affected and how Roosevelt had to resolve. His New Deal programs not only helped the Great Depression, but overseas during WWII.
