Room 303: A Personal Analysis

Improved Essays
To be honest, there is a lot I could have done many things a lot better in room 303. I did not improve on a whole lot this year. In fact, I think my bad habits worsened. It is quite pathetic. But my procrastination has only gotten worse. For example, I am typing this essay the day it is due. This essay is going to be quite the downer so I am not sure if you are going to want to continue reading. I am striving towards a thousand words so I can get an easy one hundred. So, I am apologizing ahead of time for the rambling and disorganization. Look at this poor essay like a metaphor to my life. Hectic and full of nonsense. In my last essay, I expressed my feeling over the fact that many adults are soon going to be interrogating me on my future plans. Which is practically my worst nightmare. I am practically dreading my graduation party. When I first heard the prompt to this essay, I was not incredibly enthused. My high …show more content…
I’m not talking about taking a road trip for a couple days and making a little outside Colorado, I literally want to make it around the world. I want to bilingual, or trilingual or even multilingual would be an absolute dream. I want to be able to fully engage in another culture and understand their living experiences. Touring is great but I’d prefer to actually live in many foreign countries for the rest of my life. This would be very easy to accomplish if I could land my dream job and work for Peace Corps. I don’t just want to embrace typical traveling areas. I want to live in rural areas of Africa, or the Amazon of Brazil or even the projects of Argentina. Paris, Athens, Italy and London all sound very romantic and basic, but I want to see so much more than monuments and museums. When I finally settle down, I want an entire wall in my home to be a map of the world; I will pin a picture that I took myself at every place I’ve ever

Room 337, an 85- year old widowed white female, presented six days ago to Lynchburg General Hospital with complaints of dizziness and falling. She has a past medical history of hypertension, chronic CHF, asthma and hypothyroidism. After the conduction of lab testing, Room 337 was diagnosed with syncope. Her syncope was most likely a result of insufficient O2 delivery to the brain caused by a decreased CO produced by the weakening of her heart muscle. Despite hypertension medications, Room N337’s dizziness and muscle fatigue persists demonstrated by fluctuations in her orthostatic BP readings reflecting the inability to get out of bed and move freely.…

On Friday, November 10, 2017, a rapid response was called for the patient located in room 2214. A few minutes later I received a phone call requesting security to room 2214. The patient Parker L. Wynne (34/W/M) had been gradually becoming aggressive throughout the day. When I arrived at the room several staff members were trying to put soft restraints on the arms of Mr. Wynne. The patient was trying to strike at staff and I use a supportive hold to stop him from trying to assault staff.…

"Code Blue in room 12", is called over the intercom. As the first nurse to arrive, I begin CPR without hesitation. 30 compressions to 2 breaths, is all that runs through my mind as I try to save the patient from cyanosis. Subconsciously I drown out my co-workers rushing into the room to join me.…

It seems like a decade ago that we began our time with Mr. McGee in Room 303. As we first took our spots next to our peers and friends, we were all filled with a sense of apprehension about what was to come. A motif that haunts the months of college applications and preparation is the daunting idea of seniors entering into the "real world." An alleged, new realm of reality that discredits the validity of the last few years in high school, not to mention the three before that and all the experiences previously. This concept coincides seamlessly with the idea that college is a beacon of newfound adulthood. Even so, each student's differing personality, aspirations, culture and tribulations falsifies the belief that adulthood is that straightforward. Thus, in order to define the moment that marked my transition into adulthood, I must first define what being an adult means to me.…
