Room 101

Disclaimer - This text does not represent my views or opinions of supermarkets and the events depicted in this text are mostly fictitious. I have fabricated a few stories by making use of artistic license to make this piece of writing seem more interesting. Hyperbole was also used generously. If I have offended anyone by putting these words on paper then I profusely apologise. I would like to reiterate that this text is purely for entertainment purposes (and to get me an awesome level in English).

The thing I detest the most is supermarkets and therefore I urge you to place them into Room 101. They are so bothersome that I now go to separate fruit markets and order anything else online. Screaming kids. Do they really have parents

It is infuriating how some people stand in the queue and waste the precious time of the poor employee behind the counter by trying to return their cosmetically flawed pineapple that went moldy “ as a result of the supermarket’s negligence to remind me about when it was going to go bad”. This attitude is what ruins the customer service queue as they are full of idiots who forgot to eat their food on time and are now returning it because the food went bad! These halfwits give us customers a bad name by trying to return bad food! When I have a bloody genuine request to put forward to the customer service they prioritise mouldy bread and rotten apples (which the customers forgot to eat) in fear of the vicious animals welding vile foodstuffs. I once wanted to return a toy that I had gotten from my brother for his birthday and it was broken before we took it out of the box, and the person behind the counter claimed that there is no guarantee on toys! I did not get a refund, I stood in line for about 15 minutes and still could not find a suitable replacement for my dear brother. What moronic policies.
I hope that you will take into your thoughtful consideration all of my points about supermarkets and will place them into Room 101 without hesitation or vexation. Please help me get liberate the world of the terrors and anxieties of the hellhole that causes frustration to satisfaction to people who dare to step inside the dirty, unkempt

They have an assembly line style of food prep that allows them to work quickly without placing too much stress or responsibility on the employees. It was noted during observations that they experience a high volume of incoming customers during peak hours. This causes a build up in the queue for ordering food. Some customers exit the store because the queue is too long and they overestimate the wait time for ordering food. This is an unnecessary loss of profit.…

In most household most shoppers will keep a list in their kitchen and whenever they will run out of a product or item they will write it on the list. Although, the list seems to expand as the customers walk, around the store to find what they came there to buy. Nestle uses “products”, “items”, and “merchandise” for the relationship of what the “consumer”, “customer”, or “shopper” will buy in the “supermarket”, “grocery store” or “The marketplace.” (Nestle, 2015, p. 496-504). Research says that “Most shoppers pick up two additional products for every item on the list” (Nestle, 2015, p.504).…

If the customer is too cold, the store doesn’t have the exact item they want, they do not like a store policy, or there are not enough cashiers on staff to make the checkout lines go fast enough, quite frequently customers assume you are to blame personally. As much as I would like to have everything exactly the way you’d like it, if for no other reason than for you to stop yelling at me, you are not our only customer and I don’t own the store. I just work here. God forbid they ask to speak to your manager. Wegmans produce department is a step above the rest with the “farm to market” system where the farmer does not ship their produce to the warehouse but to the actual chain, this lets Wegmans offer fresher produce, and reduces labor cost so the company does not need to transport the product from the warehouse back to the store and reducing the time the product sits on the shelf. Wegmans has also opted to use specially designed containers that go directly on the floor to keep from bruising or damaging the produce. Customers, especially when concerning produce want fresh products that are well taken care of. The meat department offers both fresh and frozen meat products with the butchering of the product taking place at their full-service butcher shop, this allows for a high quality of product. Analyzing store operations constantly might seem like a redundant task but Wegmans has made a commitment to not settle for good, instead strives to be the best; which in return customers appreciate even if it is…
