FAMILY BACKGROUND:

Ronald Secor or ‘Ron’ as he prefers to be called was born September 1st, 1944, in Binghamton NY. Ron was born to Robert Secor and Laura (Beck) Secor. Robert worked for IBM throughout Ron’s life. Ronald described his father as a caring person with a great sense of humor, but also strict when it came to parenting. Laura was a homemaker, and spent her life raising Ron and his two siblings. Laura was described as the head of the household or “the boss of the clan”, she liked having control in her home, and she was also strict when it came to parenting. Ron is the oldest for the three siblings. His sister Lynn Pott is the middle child, she is currently alive and well, and living in Florida. The youngest sibling is David, who

The two met in a bar and Ron states: “It was something like love at first sight.” The two were on a double date, but each were with someone else. Somehow the two had a connection to one another, and they ended up together by the end of the night. Ron said after that first night they never spent another night apart. The two have been together for 49 years. When asked to describe his wife Ron laughed and said: “She was and is the boss of the family, and you can’t tell her any different.” Christina is also very loving and willing to help anyone who needs it. Christina spent her life as a homemaker, and dedicated her life to her family. The two have a happy, loving, and supportive marriage to one another. They have three children together, their oldest is Kimberly (Maus), Marc, and Robert, all of which live locally. Ron and Christina have three grandchildren, and have a great relationship with all of their children. After Ron finished his time in the Navy, he started his own refrigerator and appliance repair company, named County Appliance Service. He worked there until he was no longer able to due to health conditions. He states: “I worked all three shifts, depending on the day.” Currently the business is being run by his son Marc.
