When Ronald Reagan ran for pPresident of the United States in 1980, he stated to the world that he was ready to do so. Backed with experience, education, and a good public view, he captured the 1980 presidential victory. Winning the election was Reagan’s first leap on his journey of changing the world to becoming a better place. Ronald Reagan was able to change the world because he was well-educated and courageous. Reagan was overwhelmed with popularity, and the friends of Reagan’s “fan club” convinced him to travel the state of California speaking out on government issues. Continually refusing to actually run for office, the guilt came to him. Reagan was aware of the negative consequences of Pat Brown’s 4 years of being governor of California and knew he would never forgive himself if he didn’t run for governor. So doing what his heart told him, he campaigned for governor of California and won. During the first term of Reagan’s, he implemented tax cuts and cut spending and brought California out of debt and into a surplus. Spreading throughout the grape vine were rumors of people seeing Reagan as president.
