Ronald took a few years off after his second term as governor. But ultimately came back to politics and went on to lead America in one of the most difficult times in American history. He led us through the Cold War, even survived an assassination attempt. "Before filming his first scene, Ronald learned that a seven-year contract didn't necessarily guarantee seven years of work. Warner Bros. had an option to terminate the contract after six months or a year if Ronald's acting didn't work out. Ronald felt a lot of pressure, especially since he hadn't really acted since college." (Pg 49) I really liked this section of the story because it showed that even though Ronald's life seemed perfect, he still had worries of whether or not he would be payed. "Ronald's father, Jack, was an alcoholic. It was an addiction that Jack struggled with for most of his life, and it led him to fight with his wife, have trouble at work, and sometimes leave home for short periods." (Pg 17) I didn't like this part of the story, because frankly, I don't care what Ronald Reagan's father struggled with.
