Admirable men should be men who exemplify great leadership in a morally correct manner. As President of the United States, Ronald Reagan conducted business with class and honor. As a cofounder of Microsoft and one of the world’s richest men, Bill Gates led his company with passion, humility, and respect for others with whom he worked. One heroic quality that he exemplified is perseverance. It must have been hard growing up with a dad who was an alcoholic and being raised only by his mother who even had to work sometimes. He also had to persevere when he lost in the election and when he was divorced but still had two children. Reagan also exemplified strong leadership as high school student council president, captain of the college swim team, college student body president, president of the Screen Actors’ Guild, and, most importantly, Governor of California and President of the United States. Two more qualities which the 40th President exemplified are humility and humor. When giving big speeches or even being put on the spot during presidential debates, Reagan would use jokes and one liners, some of which he made himself, to lighten the mood and relax everyone. Sometimes, he would even combine humility and humor by making jokes about himself. During one his speeches, he was asked if he was responsible for any mistakes that had happened in the past. He responded by saying “Yes, because at one point, I was a Democrat.” Many of Reagan’s qualities helped him succeed as much as he did and inspire others for years to come. Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington, on October 28, 1955, to William Henry Gates Jr., an attorney, and Mary Maxwell, a school teacher. He has an older sister, named Kristi, who is now his tax accountant, and a younger sister named Libby. Gates’s parents thought that he would become a lawyer like his father, but, in seventh grade, he began studying computer science; he had shown interest in that area. During school, Gates was acquainted with Paul Allen, who had similar interests. While Allen and Gates were still in high school, the two founded a firm called Traf-O-Data. They were able to make $20,000 by “ analyzing local traffic patterns” (“Bill Gates”). One of Gates’s early computer jobs was
