Love Of Jesus Research Paper

For my whole life, my parents have been devout followers of the Lord. They make an effort to show it in their day-to-day lives and make a point to instill and show the Love of Christ in others. While I knew that that whole-heartedly believed in Jesus, it was interesting to ask this question explicitly and hear the similarities and differences between both of their answers. It gave me the chance to hear in-depth answers and show me what Jesus had done for them their lives. Jesus for my dad was the light in his life-long struggles with darkness, and my mom has been able to use her extensive Christian up-bringing for the benefit of herself and others. I simply asked my mom, “who is Jesus for you?” She briefly paused, and then said a statement …show more content…
For both of my parents, they both see Jesus as their Lord and Savior. My dad had grown up in a Christian-based household, so from a young age he started to discover what exactly this “Jesus” person was all about. However, there is one “life-altering” situation in his life where Jesus was able to show up big time in his life, and helped him form his opinion on who God is for him today. In his mid-thirties he had been diagnosed with some serious health issues (side note: the specific health issues themselves are quite personal, so I’d rather not go into further detail. Sorry!). It was years and years of medications and tests; trials and tribulations. “It seemed like the light at the end of the tunnel was extinguished and there was really nothing that could be done.” My whole family went through this journey with my dad together and it took a large toll on us all. However, after years and years went by there finally came a solution. With the medication and treatment, my dad was able to return to his normal self. Going through it was the farthest thing from easy, but who Jesus became for my dad through this journey made it “totally worth it.” Jesus was able to be my dad’s one true comforter, who showed up “bigger than I could ever have imagined.” For him, “there was no doubt in my mind that Jesus for me was someone who I know fear more

During this prayer I was able to listen and reflect on a bible passage, as well as have a one-on-one conversation with Jesus. While listening to the bible passage from the story of Luke 5:17-20, I was able to imagine myself as one of the people in the story. The story was about how Jesus was able to heal people. Jealousy comes when one's focus is taken off God and put upon the world. Hebrews 13:4 states “but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” God's Word also states in I Corinthians 3:17 “if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.” The purity of mankind should be maintained, therefore the jealous husband was to bring her before the priest who would carry out all the law. What my husband's advancement to Chief Petty Officer means to me? The answer of that question could be 10 pages long or I could just resume what I feel in one word, "extremely proud", well I guess two words. I met Christian 16 years ago, he was full of energy, funny, and he had the ability to turn any sad or bad situation into a joke making everybody laugh; that is what make me fell in love with him. On the other hand, he was a little immature, unfocused when it comes to work, and nothing seemed to fulfill his expectations. I always knew that his passion was a career in the military, but that was out of question in my book!…

The conflict between the Christians and the Jesus Seminar has been an ongoing struggle since 1985. The Jesus Seminar, founded by Robert Funk, originated in 1985 as around 70 biblical scholars set out to determine the legitimacy of Jesus’ sayings (Dart). The Seminar focused on the historicity of Jesus using the best methods of science and literary criticism as it pertains to the Bible. Funk believed that the gospel writers had made Jesus into a “larger than life” figure in order to satisfy their religious desires. The Jesus Seminar’s goal is to rid the historical figure of Jesus from “Christian legend and myth” and to find out who Jesus really was and what he really said (Craig).…

In this essay, I will be talking about what I believe to be true from what Jesus tells us in the Bible, about being the Son of God and how He was here to die on the cross for our sins, showing everyone who He was and who ever believe in Him is save, or healed if they were sick. In this paper, I will be talking about the trustworthiness and historicity of the Gospels. The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and did Jesus claim to be God. In ninth grade, I told my mother I no longer believed in God. We were driving back to our house after bible study and she was chiding me for not acting more vocal and participating more during discussion. At some point in her lecture, she asked me if I even believed in God; I replied simply by saying no. The sound of the motor and the road filled the car for a few moments. We talked about it all the way home; she accused me of just trying to hurt her, and I cried, but I said the truth. I had not believed in God for quite some time.…

All through my childhood, I heard about Jesus and I remember being about four years old when my mother knelt beside me as I prayed the “sinners prayer” and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. I cannot say that it was the most powerful moment of my life; yet it was very significant start to my spiritual journey. This journey has allowed me to see the Holy Spirit bring Jesus alive in my life, call me into ministry, show me the works of the Holy Spirit, and become the voice that leads me every day. First of all, I was your average churched kid, creating as much mischief as the next little boy. Thanks be to God that I had a praying mother who kept me in church and showed me the value of scripture and prayer in daily life.…
