The things that describes the theme of this poem are the facts of how she's wanting us to know who that person is, who she is wanting in her heart. But, from recent knowledge, the theme of the poem is a message. So the real question is, who is that other person.

In stanza 2, line 26 states" I can't wear it on my sleeve, or tell ypou from the bottom of my heart. Here, it's all yours, now but you'll ave to take me, too." The poet is trying to tell this to person, because i can tell how the poet was typing this. This reminds me of Romieo, and Juliet. Because of how there love was so tight, but they were forced to

Treasure Them The most oldest are the ones with the youngest time to be treasured. Even though the most Eldest in the family is slowly drifting apart and that their abilities are turning short, it does not mean they should be forgotten or mistreated because of that. They must be treasured because someday they will be gone forever. Leo Tolstoy’s Russian folktale “The Grandfather and his Grandson” and Sandra Cisneros poem “Abuelito Who” have the same universal theme about the importance of grandchildren always loving and respecting their grandparents.…

“Beauty and the Beast” written by Monica Patrick is a funny and light humored poem making reference to the popular Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. The poem talks about how a couple in love see each other differently than one who is not in a relationship. Although the man or woman in this poem does not seem hurt, when someone exclaims, “Why that’s Beauty and the Beast!” it would typically hurt to hear that type of comment. However, one can infer that Patrick is trying to tell us that true love cannot be hindered by others’ perspectives.…

One of the most well known classic love stories in history, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare and the modern film remake made by Baz Luhrmann tells the story of two young lovers who, because of the everlasting rivalry between their two families can’t express their love sufficiently for it to be known. The story consists among the constant struggles Romeo and Juliet have with family friends and eachother. The play upholds the feeling of love only through barriers and that ludicrous actions are made just for their young love to still be had. Death soon follows as their want for each other becomes overwhelming for them to hold together as it is also too little to fight for against their families the Montagues (Romeo’s side) and Capulets (Juliet’s side).…

Leonardo DiCaprio once said “To believe in love, to be ready to give up anything for it, to be willing to risk your life for it, is the intimate tragedy”. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo falls in love with the enemy, Juliet leading the two individuals to go against their family values and principles of the rival. This is like the musical West Side Story by Arthur Laurents, Tony and Maria go against the ideals of their two separate rival gangs to be in love. They represent how the individual lovers are prevented and interfered with the rival families. In both stories, the protagonists from two rival groups go against their authority to be together and in love.…

All of the characters in Act 1 of A Midsummer Night’s Dream demonstrate affection in their own ways. Whether this be by fawning over the other, being overprotective, or by copying someone’s actions, they all show their love for the other character. Everyone has their own definition of love. Lysander probably knows it as a beautiful, romantic battle to win over his woman, while Eguas knows it as a difficult balance between his daughter’s happiness, and what he thinks is best for her. The events that they undergo shape their perspective on the world around them.…

Julia Alvarez employs in her poem a variety of metaphors, imagery, similes and other poetic devices to enhance and make her work engaging. The author hints the misleading idea of love and warns about how different your own opinion of love can be with that you faced in reality. However, there is still hope to mend our hearts and live without a sentimental relationship with someone instead she decides to appreciate love without false expectations tolerating both its virtues and defects. In the first stanza, the author elaborates how love is deceptive and the speaker often falls into disillusionment due to the idea that she possesses, a perfect or impeccable love. Metaphorically it is described how many times she “has been broken over and over” by the person she once trusted and loved.…

Have you ever desired to have something or someone so badly that you would do anything to have it? For example, in the movie Shrek, Shrek had a desire for Princess Fiona so badly that he did anything and everything to be with her. Well, when I think about love and what a person would do for love two stories come to mind, and they are "Pyramus and Thisbe" by Ovid and Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. These characters in the story have many obstacles, barriers, and limitation that tried to challenge the love between two people.…

Felt through the racing of heartbeats, possessed by longing gazes, and conversed with poetic words, love crumbles at the reckless hands of lovers. In Shakespeare’s tragedy, two star crossed lovers find themselves mocked by fate, and while their passion is sincere and promises are sweet, they are not able to conquer the walls that their families’ feud has set up against them. In the end, they take their own lives after trying to escape the schemes that the stars had planned for them. Only two other characters possess the knowledge of dear Romeo and Juliet’s forbidden love, and perhaps that alone should have saved their cursed souls. Unfortunately, as the miserable tale demonstrates, sometimes “the help” is what leads to the disaster.…

“How far should a person go in the name of true love?” (Sparks 191). In The Choice, Nicholas Sparks urges readers to look introspectively for an answer to this question. The quote describes the battle raging inside the story’s protagonist, Travis, who is faced with the option of either taking his unconscious wife off life support or keeping her unresponsive body alive. True love can exist in any relationship, not only a romantic one; individuals in true love are selfless and willing to sacrifice anything for their loved ones.…

Feelings are hard to deal with in life Love has many different types of feelings. Shakespeare displayed different love stories in each of the four plots throughout “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. As Helena loved a man that loved a different woman, this type of love is hard for a person to manage their feelings. Forced love was how King Theseus’ love was to Hippolyta. Finally, romantic love was how Hermia felt about Lysander, Hermia was willing to disobey the Athens law in which her father told her to marry Demetrius, be killed or live a single lifestyle (Bevington, 2014).…

The poem, “Tonight at Noon”, written by Adrian Henri, is a very realistic poem that can help you see a different perspective. This poem starts by saying all this nonsense things that will never come true, like pigs flying. The poem ends by saying, “and you will tell me you love me tonight at noon”. I like to look at it as a sort of wake up call, initially saying that she will never love him. I love this poem because it seems real to me and my perspective of life.…

In the third poem, the speaker addresses the beloved for the first time. He has stepped into new territory and states that he had not known awe or desire before he met her. He begs her to choose him as a servant and to forgive the mistakes he is going to make. Three different images or ideas predominate the poem: a religious aspect, the concept of love as serving and the speaker’s youth and inexperience. After the trochees of the first two poems, the iambic metre of the third poem creates a sense of increased tempo.…
