The Roman Empire had many great achievements in their golden age, but the most important accomplishments are Roman architecture, art, and science/medicine. One achievement from Rome’s golden ages is architecture. Domes and columns were major parts in Roman architecture. In the book, Great Empires of the Past, on page 95 it stated; “The romans used vaults and domes to create large indoor spaces in their public buildings. The greatest example is the Pantheon in Rome, built around 125 and still standing today”. This means that instead of putting the vaults and columns on the inside of the building; the Romans made more indoor space by putting the columns and domes on the outside of the building.
