omeo Alejandro Saavedra is a young basketball star in the making. He was born in Toronto to a mom named Nimasha and a dad named Justin they later moved to Ottawa so Romeo’s dad could pursue his dream of becoming the prime minister of Canada. After Romeo’s father lost the election to become Prime Minister Nimasha and Romeo left his father in disgust and embarrassment and moved to Windsor Ontario.

When Romeo was in grade 7 when he started at his new elementary school where he was asked to try out for the boys’ basketball team Romeo didn’t want to try out because “I’m very small and to be good at basketball you have to be tall” he said. When the basketball season started they left at Romeo because he is a small kid with blue eyes and blonde hair trying out for the best basketball high school team in Toronto but sure enough Romeo made the junior team and was the only grade 9 on the team. Romeo was so good he was asked to play on the senior team and he still was the leading scorer. Later that year Romeo was asked to play on a travel team and he wanted but his mom was very unsure about it because of money problems. Romeos mom took on two jobs and worked extremely hard so her son could continue to play basketball Romeo said “my goal is to make it to the NBA so my mom doesn’t have to work another …show more content…
