Romeo is to blame for the six deaths also because he arranged the wedding between himself and Juliet, a thirteen year old girl he met less than 24 hours ago. At the balcony, Juliet gave Romeo a choice, “If that thy bent of love be honorable/Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow, /By one that I’ll procure to thee…But if though meanest not well, /I do beseech thee…To cease thy strife and leave me to my grief (Shakespeare, 79).” Romeo didn’t have to marry Juliet, but, because he’s a rule breaker, he decided to go and ask Friar Lawrence to preside and officiate wedding. Romeo managed the whole wedding; he picked the time and place, he chose the friar, and he made sure that no one else knew, all Juliet had to do was show up and look pretty.
