When talking about Romeo’s agency, Koffman makes a statement that can apply very well to R in Warm Bodies, saying that without love, “Romeo lives emptily, as if dead.” I can use this quote to talk about how R uses love to fight against his zombie/non-human tendencies. The Scott article mostly focuses on Juliet’s agency, but states that in the film Romeo + Juliet, the role of with the most emotional capacity instead of being given, as it is traditionally, to Juliet it is given to Romeo. Warm Bodies makes the same switch, which is a decision that effects R’s agency. I had not originally considered discussing Julie/Juliet’s agency in my paper, but Koffman makes statements in his article about Juliet rebelling against her father which are very…

In William Shakespeare's tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, Romeo's sentimental tone sets a hopeless mood of the parallel plot to be able to bring all the events together in the major plot to keep the readers interested. Romeo is hopeless in finding love, believing that he will not find another girl like Rosaline, expressing how he feels about his love towards Rosaline. In the last scene of Act 1 Scene 2, Benvolio tells Romeo that he should not go to the feast to get Rosaline back, he should go to the feast to find other beauties, " With all the admired beauties of Verona: Go thither; and, with unattained eye, compare her face with some that I shall show, And I will make thee thy swan a crow". The story of Romeo and Juliet is a story of two star crossed lovers who come from two different apposing families that let their feuds with each other blind their eyes from the love their children have for each other. Under these circumstances where better to set my paper than in Virginia during the brink of the Civil War, the war in which some of the bloodiest battles ever fought on U.S. soil accrued in, and the nation was split pinning family against family and brother against brother.
