One of the reasons that Juliet is responsible for the deaths is that She choose to run off behind her parents back and marry Romeo, she knew that Capulet’s cannot marry Montague’s. Juliet knew about the never ending feud between the two families, and she also knew that her parents would have never approved the marriage had they known about it. Juliet was distracted by the words that Romeo was using towards her. “If they do see thee they will murder thee.Alack, there lies more peril in thine eye Than twenty of their swords. Look thou but sweet, And I am proof against their enmity.I would not for the world they saw thee here I have night’s cloak to hide me from their eyes, And but thou love me, let them find me here. My life were better ended by their hate Than death proroguèd, wanting of thy love.” (II.II.70-78). Juliet also chooses to take a potion from The Friar at the end of the story and it causes her to look dead when Romeo shows up, if Juliet did not look dead Romeo would not have killed himself because the only reason Romeo killed himself was because he could not be with his true love. “What’s here?
