Romeo And Juliet's Passings

Decent Essays
Romeo and Juliet are in charge of their own passings since they were the ones who submitted suicide. They had a settlement to submit suicide or not. It is preposterous to toss the fault on someone else or an issue that made them confer suicide. Romeo and Juliet were in charge of their own passings as prove by Romeo's and Juliet's decision to follow up on their adoration for each other too rapidly, their choice to conceal their affections for each other from their family, and taking their own lives on their all alone unrestrained choice. On the off chance that they had pondered their choices altogether, they would wind up carrying on with an upbeat life

A quote regarding blame is excerpted out of the book, It’s Not My Fault: The No-Excuse Plan for Overcoming Life’s Obstacles written by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend, “We live in a culture of blame. People will blame anyone or anything for their misery sooner than take the responsibility to own it and make it better”. This quote strongly agrees with the idea of other factors whom are to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death because it speaks of people blaming others for things that they could have done, and in this case Romeo and Juliet can blame many people for their deaths, but at the end of the day it is truly them who committed suicide and ended their deaths. People are afraid to come forward and take responsibility of the things they did, so they resort to pointing fingers and endlessly coming up with excuses as to why the scenario occurred, but upon realizing the true cause of the situation, themselves, they can dissect what happened and prevent something like that from ever occurring…

However, in order to help Juliet through her "grief" over Tybalt's death, Capulet decides to marry her off to Paris (III, iv). Of course this is a problem as she is secretly married to Romeo at this time. In III, v, Lady Capulet states, "I'll send one in Mantua, where that same banished runagate doth live, that he shall soon keep Tybalt company…" (ll94-96). This statement prophesizes Romeo's death later in the final scene of the play. Then, Lady Capulet wishes her daughter to be married to her grave (ll. 145), which is ironic, as Juliet will take a potion causing her to appear dead in IV, ii. That same evening, the lovers consummate their marriage, and in the morning, Juliet makes yet another prophesy, "O God, I have an ill-divining soul!…

The decision that I found to be particularly hasty was Romeo's decision to commit suicide. I believe that this decision was impulsive and fueled by Romeo's emotions. It lead to not only his death but his lover Juliet as well. If Romeo had been more thoughtful instead of letting his grief and desperate thoughts overwhelm him, he could of created a different ending for the play, one not as tragic. Before Romeo made such a decision, he had been waiting for Friar Lawrence in Mantua to send him news of the uplifting sorts when Balthazar had told him that Juliet had died.…
