Mercutio plays a part in Romeo’s death because Mercutio brought Romeo to the Capulet’s party one night. When they arrived at the party Romeo caught Juliet on the corner of his eye. Once he saw Juliet his heart filled with happiness and he showed a lot of love for her. Of course, Romeo was not supposed to be at the party because he was a Montague. Once Romeo met Juliet he said, “If I profane with my unworthiest hand, this holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” Pg. 758, Line 95. The main reason is if the Capulet's and Montague’s didn’t fight or have a major feud at all then nobody would have died. Other people in the story such as Tybalt and Mercutio died while trying to fight each other. Romeo wouldn’t have been banished if Tybalt wouldn’t have killed Mercutio. If the prince could also just end the feud and help bring the two sides to peace and he wouldn’t have any problems at all. Friar John didn’t send the message to Romeo and if he would have known then there would be no conflict. If none of these situations would have happened then the story would result in a happy ending and no one would
