Most of the human population has read the Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet or at least knows the plot, but the question still stands; is the play really about true love? Romeo, “fell in love” with Juliet the first time he laid eyes on her, which does not seem practical. “Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.” (Act 1, scene V, Romeo and Juliet). He bases love off of looks alone, which is essentially lust or sexual attraction. Then there’s Juliet, who did not know what love truly was because of her young age and also because Romeo was the first man in her life. Juliet accompanied Romeo on this truly experimental journey purely out of curiosity.
