Romeo And Juliet Play Vs Movie Analysis

Romeo and Juliet: Play vs. Movie
One difference I noticed stood out the most was time. I thought the differences between time periods were completely different. For one Verona looked a lot like New York or another big city. There were a lot of flashing lights and tall buildings. Another difference I caught was that in the original Romeo and Juliet wasn’t in the time period with cars. In the 1996 movie the Capulets and the Montegues had super nice cars that you would see here in 2016. To add on to them having nice cars in the film they also had gasoline stations. The last difference that really stood out to me at the time was the music they listened to in the film. In the 1400’s version I think their music wasn’t really a pop genre I think

The first thing that stood out was the design on the outside. They of course still had the balcony, but around it was different. Instead of having a bunch of bushes and and plants they just had potted plants and a ton of statues and figurines. Another thing about the outside was that they just had vines put on the house. Another difference was when Romeo and Juliet were talking to themselves, in the play Romeo was behind a bush, but in the movie he just stood on the side of the wall by all the vines. With Juliet in the play she was on the balcony in the movie she was on the ground walking. The last difference is when Romeo finally decided to confront Juliet he scared her. When he scared her, she grabbed him as they both fell in the pool. In the play there was no pool just a yard.

One of the reason the director choose these ideas was because it would make his version of “Romeo and Juliet” unique. His version of the play was different but it still gave you the whole story line, that’s what made his film unique and fun. Another reason could have been he wanted to relate it to present day time. He made it to where it was easier to understand for people in present day. His film was different from the original but present day people could relate to it

That impacted the movie because it showed how John really reacted to what Abigail did. A second difference was in the play it had only talked about the girls dancing in the woods when they were in Betty’s room. In the movie it showed them there in the woods dancing. Another difference in the play was that Tituba was…

There are many differences between the movie and the play. The film takes place in Salem Massachusetts in 1692. The main actors are proctor, Abigail, judge danforth, Elizabeth, Paris, and hale. The first that I noticed is that in the movie when Abigail is trying to wake Betty up the girls that were also dancing with them in the woods were also trying to wake Betty up. The book and the movie have many differences but not big differences in the movie many of the scenes are outside while during the play most of the scenes are inside because it is hard to make an outside scene during a play.…

The film had a lot more plot to it and better sense of setting and characterization. The scene which provided more imagery was when Westley saves the princess from the other men and they travel down the fire swamp in order to get free but through their travel they discover large rats that attack them and sinkholes that Buttercup falls in and Westley dives in to save her. From that scene i was able to get a better view of the struggles they go through in order to become free once again so they can enjoy their love…

Although Zeffirelli’s version of the story picks and chooses from the script of Romeo and Juliet, it completely copies what it does use. Luhrmann’s version does use more of the script, but it also interjects some added lines not in the original script such as, “By and by I come,” when Juliet replies to the Nurse. Also, Zeffirelli’s version copies the accent of speech used by the English at that time. Luhrmann’s version uses the scripts language, but a modern accent, throwing the audience off. Zeffirelli’s version better portrays the dialogue of the story, as well as the…

The differences seen in the two interpretations are due to changes in the time period. There are a lot of differences in the book than in the play, such as the setting. The setting is different in the play than in the story because in the story the author can explain the setting with great detail, but in the play it would be difficult to act out a clear cool breezy night because they don't have enough props to do it. One of the main differences in the book than the play is that the headless horseman and ichabod ride their horses and they are important. Unlike the play where they couldn't use horses because they don't have the proper props to do that. Another difference would be the date of the story and play.…

I think Romeo was represented by this figure for his romantic qualities and how he chose to be a lover, over his natural strength of wanting to fight. Water was the main focus of landscape the first time Romeo and Juliet saw each other, creating an unusual range of passion. Again, the choice of music in the background, helped create a romantic air. The actual tune and pace of the song were slow enough. The elevator scene was a different spot in which Romeo and Juliet first embraced which showed a wanting for privacy.…

It is the tone and mood of the plot that makes them so different. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is very funny and calm. It has lots of humor to it. Romeo and Juliet, however is very dark and gloomy.
