Romeo And Juliet Persuasive Essay

I recently watched the Hang the DJ episode of Black Mirrors’ new season, and I loved every single sickening second of it. (SPOILERS AHEAD) I found the characters likeable and dynamic, with the “twist” being very satisfied, but predictable. Yeah the happy, rebellious couple stays together, blah, blah, blah.. But, I found it very interesting how two people who had only known each other for a couple of hours could “fall in love.” As I basked in the glory of the show, I thought about how the premise can equate to Romeo and Juliet. Two fellows fall in love very quickly, irrationally, and awkwardly. Romeo and Juliet, who are both teenagers, decide they are meant for each other and they'll live happily ever after. And then, that train of thought brought me to people I know. Some of my friends think that their 9th grade girlfriend will be with them forever, and I just laugh. An underdeveloped human being cannot possibly know their needs fifteen years down the road, so real “love” at a young age is impossible. …show more content…
Now, I understand the lust exists, and that Romeo was literally looking for a chick to replace Roseline. Any food looks good to a starving man, if you know what I mean. As a high school student, quick and easy relationships are seen everywhere. I think it’s essentially “you’re hot, I’m hot, let’s be hot together.” These relationships last a week, tops. Romeo and Juliet claim love at first sight, and many can relate to that right now, but you cannot know if you are compatible people within minutes! In health class, a teacher said it’s a science that you need to spend 1,000 hours with a person to “love” them! It’s hard to know if you're compatible with minutes, and that’s why a 14 year old can’t properly be in love,

Title “Do with their death bury their parents' strife. The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,” said in the Prologue of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare explains that the Capulet and Montague feud only ends with Romeo’s and Juliet’s death. Society’s beliefs change and if a person’s beliefs do not change or adapt with them bad things can result of it. In the case of the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet an old disagreement between two families caused two young people in love to take their lives. If the feud was solved in earlier years, the deaths of the Montague boy and Capulet girl would not have taken place along with many other deaths.…

The film as a whole is meant to be a meditation on mature love; a prospect that sometimes falters under the weight of the film's melancholy tone. This is not to say the tone is the problem but rather The Lovers's beat-by-beat story flirts a little too much with melodrama for something not to eventually give.
