The nurse is most responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet. To begin, she should have know better than to keep a secret of two teenagers. Because she didn’t tell the Capulets the truth, Romeo and Juliet felt forced into a difficult situation. Furthermore, her lack of loyalty to Juliet created further tension. If they nurse had offered a better solution than to marry Paris, Juliet might not have turned to the friar’s drastic solution. However, at the same time, she was too helpful in allowing this deceit to happen. Had she taken the time to really consider her actions, this tragedy may have been avoided.
