In the play, Romeo and Juliet, by Shakespeare, Juliet is confronted with being married. Juliet’s mother, Lady Capulet, asks her daughter if she ever thought of marriage. Juliet is hesitant about her mother’s question “It is an honour that I dream not of,” (1-3-70). The mask has question marks and hearts on it telling how Juliet’s feelings are of confusing and if she should fall in love with Paris, who she knows barely of. The background of her mask is pink, symbolizing the Capulets color, red. Juliet has never thought of marriage or what it is even like to be in love. So, for Juliet to be confronted with this question makes her feel uneasy and unbalanced.
