In the tragic play, Romeo has been banished and young Juliet is in a situation where she must marry a suitor she is not in love with, but she is willing to make measures to the extreme if she cannot find a way to be with her true love again. The girl visits one of the few who knows about the marriage between Romeo and Juliet and says, “…Tell me not, friar, that thou hear’st of this, unless thou tell me how I may prevent it: If, in thy wisdom, thou canst give no help, do thou call my resolution wise…”, (Scene 4, Act 1; 50-53). Juliet is willing to kill herself if there is no other way to get herself out of the arranged marriage and not be with her true love. She is willing to put everything on the line for Romeo and their love. A second example about how love drives our thoughts and decisions is in the final act of the play when the two lovers kill themselves for each other. Romeo, who thinks Juliet is dead, kills himself with the final words, “Here’s to my love! O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die”, (Act 5, Scene 3; 119-120), while Juliet kills herself for Romeo shortly after without a second thought, “… O happy dagger!
