Romeo And Juliet Love At First Sight

Decent Essays
Does love at first sight exist? Love at first sight is like hate at first sight. Is it possible to hate someone without even talking to them? It doesn't seem so, then what makes love the exception? Love at first sight might be attraction, but not fondness. The person might seem like they are something, when they are not. You judge them and then are disappointed when it is revealed that they are not how they look like. It is like judging a book by its cover and then we get disappointed because the book itself didn't live up to the covers standards. Why didn't Rosaline love Romeo back? It all comes back to love at first sight. Romeo didn't love Rosaline for her character, rather for her appeal, which consequented into Rosaline not loving Romeo

With all of the things Romeo had said about Rosaline it suggests that he is feeling more lust than love. The only reason he even went to the party was to sulk over not being with her. I believe love at first sight is not possible. When a person thinks that they've fallen in love at first sight, they are just in love with the idea or image of the person. The first thing a person sees is the looks, you can't see their personality. They don't hold a sign with everything about them on it. In "Romeo and Juliet" the lovers believed they were so in love that they even died together.…

Juliet Capulet never pictured herself getting married, but after she fell in love, the true love she shared with Romeo, Juliet changed her mind. When Lady Capulet asked Juliet how she felt about marriage, Juliet said “It is an honor that I dream not of”, which means Juliet never thought of getting married. However, later in the story, Juliet uses the metaphor “I have bought the mansion of a love, but not possessed it, and though I am sold, not yet enjoyed.” Juliet loves Romeo truly, but they have not yet married. Juliet also told Friar Lawrence, “And before I am married to another man, I will kill myself” this means Juliet doesn’t want to marry Paris because she is married to Romeo, and she doesn’t love Paris, she loves Romeo.…

Young romances can bring the experience of compelling desire and memories for a special someone, but it can also act as a more sinsiter and unintended purpose. The suicidal impulse that both Romeo and Juliet exhibit relate to the overall theme of young love by showcasing their impulsive actions in the highlights of passion. Throughout the drama, “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare features multiple instances in which he seems to support the consideration of a self-destructive tendency inextricably being connected with love. When looking at the many situations in which the suicidal impulses are directly affiliated with their self-destructive tendency, it is shown that it is in fact linked with love, and not…

Throughout the 2nd Act of the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, we see Friar Laurence express his view that young love is as fickle and often insincere. IN Act 2 Scene 3 lines 68-69 we see Friar Lawrence reprimand Romeo for switching so suddenly from loving Rosaline to loving Juliet. " Young men's love then lies / Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes". Essentially, Friar Lawrence is accusing all young men, including Romeo, of confusing lust, or physical attraction, with love, the former of which is not the strongest nor most sincere form of love. Romeo defends himself saying that Friar Lawrence often chided him for loving Rosaline, to which Friar Lawrence replies with “For doting, not loving, pupil mine” (II.iii.83)…

Romeo & juliet, was it real love or lust at first sight? In William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are not in love because they marry the day after they meet, they also experience lust at first sight, and they are very immature and foolish. These are great reasons for the support of the fact that Romeo and Juliet are not in love. Another true reason to help support the that they are not in love is they met and died within five days, which does not give them very much time to get to know one another therefore adds more to the reason of them not being truely inlove withone another.…

Infatuation and love are two vastly different types of affection that most people get confused between. It is likely to occur more so among a boy and a girl when they are young and inexperienced as opposed to when they’re grown and matured. Infatuation can easily be mistaken for love in many cases. In Romeo and Juliet infatuation is mistaken for love by the both of them, for what they had between them was not love due to the fact that they were not mature enough, love takes time to develop, and because it was based on physical attraction. Love deals with more than just looks.…
