Romeo And Juliet Hatred Quotes

Hatred Is Our Greatest Downfall “Hate, when allowed to exist and prosper, can destroy even the greatest love.” It is hatred that destroys the love of Romeo and Juliet. This quote is exemplified throughout the entire play, relating to the Montagues and Capulets and their hate for each other. In the beginning of Romeo and Juliet, the two families show their hate for each other when Montague and Capulet want to fight drawing their swords. “ Capulet - What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho! Lady Capulet - A crutch, a crutch! Why call you for a sword? Capulet - My sword, I say. Old Montague is come And flourishes his blade in spite of me. Montague - Thou villain Capulet-- Hold me not; let me go. Lady Montague - Thou shalt not stir one foot to seek a foe.” (1.1.76-82) This shows how the two families’ hate for each other has already been introduced to us early in the play because it is very important and how it …show more content…
“ Romeo - Alive in triumph, and Mercutio slain! Away to heaven, respective lenity, and fury be my conduct now. Now, Tybalt, take the “villain” back again That late thou gavest me, for Mercutio’s soul Is but a little way above our heads. Tybalt - Thou wretched boy that didst consort him here Shalt with him hence. Romeo - This shall determine that. They fight. Tybalt falls.” (3.1.127-137) This relates to the quote because it shows Romeo and Tybalt from different families fighting and Tybalt dies. After the death of Tybalt, the hatred of each family grows even more because of this event. Through all of this, Juliet still forgives Romeo for killing Tybalt because she loves Romeo too much. This growth of hatred is shown when Lady Capulet demands that Romeo be executed for killing Tybalt. The Prince decided that Romeo will be banished since Tybalt started the

In Romeo and juliet I believe there's more “love” than “hate” because it is said to be one of the greatest known love stories of all times. I personally think the same because, As Juliet said on the balcony scene “My love sprung from my only hate” which meant that noble Romeo was her love but he is a family member of their only enemy the “Montagues”. Romeo and Juliet loved being together so much that in the end they committed suicide to always be with each other.…

The central theme of Shakespeare’s play, “Romeo and Juliet”, is about love, how it can serve as a leading cause of violence, and its similarities to hate. Romeo and Juliet, driven by their passion, attempt to create a world where they can deny their names and family for the sake of each other. The problem of having the love they want seems to drive them inexorably towards violence, and ultimately suicide as a final solution. Shakespeare grants love and hatred analogous roles, though in our time, they commonly serve as opposite forms of passion. Early on, before even meeting Juliet, while still under the influence of his love for Rosaline, Romeo plays with a series of contradictions using love and hate interchangeably, wailing ““O brawling…

Shakespeare shapes ideas about conflict through the ever present nature of the feud. All characters in Shakespeare's play “Romeo and Juliet” find themselves effected by the conflict, especially Romeo and Juliet. Act 1 Scene 5 is very much a scene about love as it is the scene where Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time and share their first kiss. However, Shakespeare reminds the audience of the feud and how it will impact Romeo and Juliet's love by adding moments of conflict into the scene. This conflict is evident in the line spoken by Tybalt to Capulet “This, by his voice, should be a Montague/ Fetch me my rapier, boy ....…
