Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet makes two people who aren’t supposed to be together fall in love with each other. When first reading the book we think that the forbidden loves is between Romeo and Rosaline. Instead, Romeo can’t love Juliet because the Montagues won’t have it. Coincidentally, the Capulets refuse to let Juliet love Romeo. Although with the seriousness of Romeo with Rosaline is very low, we question the seriousness of his other relationships.
Romeo’s relationship with Rosaline reflects the theme of forbidden love because there isn’t really a relationship between them. Instead, Rosaline Friendzones Romeo before a relationship can start. Her reasoning is legitimate though. All Romeo wants is a physical relationship. Rosaline chose not to be in a disastrous relationship to relieve Romeo’s infatuation. However, the Montagues are the ones that forbid the relationship. Their reason being that they were at war with the Capulet family years before. Romeo believes that Juliet is the love of his life quite literally after three minutes of knowing her. Later that same night Juliet finds herself “in love” with Romeo.
Juliet’s relationship with Romeo reflects the theme of forbidden love because the Montague family doesn’t want her to be. However the Capulet’s are the ones that forbid the relationship. Their reason being the feud goes farther, not to mention the fact that the Montagues servants started a fight with the Capulets servants the same day of Romeo and Juliet meeting each other. Anyway, Juliet feels safe and in love with the fact that Romeo “loves” her. The “love” that these two “Share:” for each other is believable because the “love” is actually infatuation; a feeling many teenagers get confused with
