Both Capulet and Montague have huge tragic flaws. These tragic flaws are not well-hidden either, they are pretty obvious. Romeos flaw is shown throughout the book, and his is his overzealous love for any remotely pretty girls. He shows this during act 1 when he falls out of love and into love in a matter of seconds because he saw a pretty girl. Minutes before he was feeling very upset because he knew his “love” Rosaline could never and would never love him back. Once He saw Juliet he says “Did my heart know love till now?...For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.”(1.5. 54-55) This is a pretty big flaw because he very quickly goes from strangers with Juliet, to married, which ends up with both of them dead. This flaw, despite the tragedy it causes, shows that, at least to Romeo and Juliet, love will bring them together, no matter how long they have actually been with each other, or the dangers of being together. Both Lady Montague and Montague, and Lady Capulet and Capulet all have tragic flaws that cause bad things for many people. They have the same flaw, and that flaw is the opposite of Romeo's: overzealous hate. This flaw shines through multiple times throughout the play. Infact, when Lady Capulet's nephew dies, the first thing she does is call for the death of a Montague, by saying “Romeo must not live.”(3.2. 183). Although, yes, Romeo did kill Tybalt, most of the time the first thing a person does is mourn a death, rather than seek out more. The Montagues continue on the feud for no real reason other than the fact that they hate each other (even though nobody can remember why.) Not even the intense, passionate love Romeo and Juliet have could make this flaw of overzealous fate go away. The only thing that could make it disappear was death. This makes the theme very obvious. If love fails to bring people
